‘how’ we do therapy

Our work is relational, collaborative, and paced to support genuine contact rather than remain within habitual performance responses. Sessions are guided by what’s present, with attention to thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and what unfolds between us in the therapeutic relationship. Drawing from relational psychotherapy, somatic approaches, and parts work, I offer reflection, curiosity, and steady attunement rather than advice-giving or directive instruction. This allows patterns to be explored as they arise, and supports a therapy process that is responsive and experiential.

‘what’ therapy may involve

Depending on your needs, therapy may include exploring relational patterns and attachment dynamics, developing greater embodied awareness, and tracking nervous system responses in moments of stress, shutdown, or activation. We may gently work with different parts of you (for example, those that protect, criticise, withdraw, or strive) with the aim of understanding their role and motivation. Observe and tend to contradictions and habits. Over time, this deep exploration can support a more coherent and compassionate relationship with yourself, making it easier to respond to life with flexibility, choice, and self-trust.

‘why’ we do therapy that way

This approach reflects an understanding that many of our patterns are formed via relational attachments, habitual survival responses and social conditioning. While insight is valuable, lasting change often requires new relational experiences of safety, attunement, and responsiveness. By working relationally and with embodied awareness (rather than focusing on diagnosis or fixing) therapy becomes a place to practice and develop new ways of relating to yourself and others. Change emerges gradually, through being met with consistency, curiosity, and care. First mine, and then eventually your own.
